I don’t usually go ambulance chasing, but today I happened to be so close that I just had to check it out. I wasn’t the only spectator watching as the Finnish Border Guard rescued a man stranded on an island not far from the shore in Nokkala, Espoo. Apparently he had gone for a walk on the extremely thin ice, which is something a sane Finn would never do. The stretchers in the picture were not needed and the guy walked happily out of the hovercraft. HS has the story (Finnish).
I didn’t want to take a picture of the survivor, because I’m not friggin paparazzi and because the guy probably wasn’t a celebrity.

Ever wondered how much coffee you’d need to drink to actually die from caffeine overdose? Death by Caffeine has the answer. Just a rant in Finnish, won’t happen again 
… but resurrected as Caffeine overdose! Yeah, “Linux overdose” was a lousy title, as it gave people the impression that my blog was about Linux. If you use a Mac, you don’t want to read a blog titled “Linux overdose”.
It’s been a real quiet two months for this blog. That’s mainly because I’ve spent most of my free time developing Kristitty.net (Finnish christian web site), which is now powered by Drupal. I installed both Joomla and Drupal, then messed around with both. I had kind of a race between the two CMS systems and in the end the Drupal version of the site had advanced a lot faster, so I simply picked that one. Somehow Drupal was easier and simpler to use, but that’s just my opinion.
Now I have great plans for Finnmetal.com too, but zero time to fulfill them. One day there will be a Finnmetal.com. It’ll be so Web 2.0… if I can find the time to just make the damn site. There really aren’t any good web sites devoted to Finnish heavy metal, so I figure I must make one.
