Ambulance chasing

RescueI don’t usually go ambulance chasing, but today I happened to be so close that I just had to check it out. I wasn’t the only spectator watching as the Finnish Border Guard rescued a man stranded on an island not far from the shore in Nokkala, Espoo. Apparently he had gone for a walk on the extremely thin ice, which is something a sane Finn would never do. The stretchers in the picture were not needed and the guy walked happily out of the hovercraft. HS has the story (Finnish).

I didn’t want to take a picture of the survivor, because I’m not friggin paparazzi and because the guy probably wasn’t a celebrity.

More pics in my gallery.
